Students who complete Honors, Contest, or Scholars Math 7: Introduction to Algebra, are generally ready for Scholars Math 7.2. We recommend that students take the Scholars Math 7.2 placement exam to confirm whether they are ready for this course.
Our expert instructors use Art of Problem Solving curriculum to teach Scholars Math 7.2: Introduction to Number Theory. AoPS curriculum is a much broader and deeper exploration of challenging mathematics than a typical math curriculum, preparing students for success at top universities and in competitive careers.
In this course, students master the basics of number theory, including number bases, divisibility, prime numbers, the Euclidean algorithm, modular arithmetic, linear congruences, the Chinese Remainder theorem, and more.
This course uses the book Introduction to Number Theory.
Our instructors hold classes virtually, in a small-sized (10-16 students) videoconferencing classroom.
There are about 1 to 3 hours of homework each week. There is one timed final exam at the end of each course.

Each course runs for 18 weeks with one 105-minute lesson per week.
